Calling all writers! We are looking for you to come join us for The Two Chairs first Short Story Collection that we will be collating later this year.
The Two Chairs aims to be a one stop shop for Australians to learn and contribute to the discussion about racism. For our first collective project we plan to collect vox pops in and around Melbourne as well as online about peoples thoughts and stories on racisms and discrimination. We will then use these stories as the basis for a writers workshop held in Melbourne on the 9 November 2013 to create a short story collection that we will then publish.
That is where you come in. We are looking for writers to join our workshop to create this book. We’re expecting about 1,500 – 2,000 words per story, and the final result will be available both online and as a physical copy.
At this stage we are not able to offer payment, however each author will be given a copy of the book and lunch will be provided on the day.
You will need to be available in Melbourne on the 9 November, however with enough interest we may be able to include an online option for those not able to attend on the day. Due to a limited budget we may not be able to include everyone this time around, but with future projects on the way we are hoping to include everyone in The Two Chairs. If you’re interested we’d love to have you on board. Fill out the form here, and please include any links to any articles you’ve already written. Applications close on the 21 October.
